Marguerite Brown (b. 1990) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist who explores new mediums, forms, and performance practices with an emphasis on unorthodox approaches to tuning and temperament. In her compositions, algorithms often provide a framework for indeterminate parameters to unfold, where freedom of performer interpretation can contribute to a shared sense of vision.

Contemporary vocal trailblazer Julia Anne Cordani “creates an intense crossfire” in the artistic world (Frank Housh). Described as “a clear, sparkling delight” by Buffalo Rising and “dazzling and sweeping” by Cleveland Classical, she is a respected interpreter of new vocal music. Her scholarship is ingrained into her performance practice, and investigates the relationships between virtuosity, body/embodiment, and dramaturgy in recent vocal art music.

My research interest is not really clear at the moment, but I do hope to research more about the history of politics, especially the ones evolving in the recent 100 years or so. I am also interested in researching the connection between food and sound. As a big foodie myself, it would be very fun to make music about food, but in a way that has some scientific foundations.

Primary focus on audiovisual relationships in virtual and physical spaces. Current projects and collaborations explore correlations between synesthesia, imagination and memory through spatialized, interactive, narrative-based linear and non-linear compositions in virtual reality, audiovisual live performance and large-scale real-time reactive installations in two-dimensional projection and three-dimensional dome spaces.

My works center around contemplative engagement with listening and soundmaking. I am interested in facilitating a participatory performance space that invites both musicians and listeners for a collective ritualistic experience. My compositional approach is oriented toward transforming the everyday perception of the sonic environment. Text-based scores are also integral to my practice informed by composers involved in Fluxus, Deep Listening, and acoustic ecology.

Adam is a musician engaged in the creation of scores, recordings, performances, and installations. He is interested in music’s capacity to shape experiences of time and memory, condition the perceptual limits of change and difference, shift the intangible atmosphere of a space, and reframe the incidental sounds and experiences of everyday life. His music attempts to explore these capacities as it also holds open an immersive space for listening, reflection, and imagination.
